Mama I felt the earth move!!!

September 11th, 2008 by yad

(I’ve not stopped blogging, just resting!)

It was Friday 5th September 2008, approximately 10am Uzbekistan time (1pm Malaysian time).

I was at the Uzbek office, located on the 13th floor (boy oh boy, what a number!!!). It was my 2nd day in Tashkent and I was trying my best to LLB (look like busy), waiting for my meeting to start… All of the sudden, the building felt like it was shaking… the first thing that went through my mind was a possible explosion and perhaps Russia was still bombing Georgia hehehe. It lasted for few seconds, and as I turned to my other colleagues, I realised I wasn’t the only one who had felt the trembling.

Then one of the local staff informed us that it was an earthquake… wow! An earthquake in Uzbekistan??? Actually, it shouldn’t be all that surprising.Uzbekistan is an earthquake-prone country and 2 weeks earlier (22nd August) an earthquake shook central Uzbekistan (the epicenter was 17 km southwest of Tashkent in Nazarbek and on a 12 level scale, it measured around 5 to 5.6). Hhmm I guess what I experienced was nothing compared to the earthquake on 22nd August.

Anyway, my 2nd earthquake experience was on Monday 8th September. This time it was kinda scary…. The building shook big time and it freaked us out. And during that brief period I thought to myself, ”No!!! I’m too young to die” …Ya Allah,  tak sempat nak taubat, tak sempat nak mintak ampun kat mama, baba and my family, I won’t be seeing my lovely wife anymore and I didn’t get the chance to tell her how much I love her, tak sempat nak sambut Raya and I should have top up my insurance!!! Anyway Alhamdulillah after10-15 seconds the trembling stopped, and I guess I still have a chance to do all the things above.

Although earthquake is a new experience for me, I can’t say that it’s something I would care to repeat. I’ve been informed that I may be required to travel again to Uzbekistan before Raya, and this time I might not be so lucky. Since I’ve got a long list of things to do, I guess I better start right away…

For my wife…

August 20th, 2007 by yad

573385286l Alhamdulillah… I’m finally married… 13th July 2007, that’s the most important date for me… the day I became a hubby… Iza’s hubby…

After years of waiting… I finally met the "One"… and indeed she’s the "One"…

honestly, I was really nervous during the nikah ceremony… everyone was looking at me… what if i fumble? what if i mumble? i never like the attention… i’ve always tried keep a low profile… way below the radar… but there was no escape for me that day… and when the tok kadi asked me to sit on that pillow… boy or boy… i felt like i was in another world… it was scary… but at the same time beautiful… and after 1 quick lafaz… it was all over…. Alhamdulillah…

btw, my family teased me over the quick lafaz… they said laju mcm roket… mcm bullet train… but i guess the most important thing is that it went well… hehehe!

Honestly, nikah is indeed a beautiful experience… magical… but let me make it cleart, i’m not looking forward to another one… hehehe…

to my family, relatives and friends… thanks for coming over to our reception… the gifts… the prayers… the moral support… thanks for everything… we really appreciate it.

to those who didn’t get the invitation… I’m really sorry for the blunder, it’s very unlikely you’re gonna see me getting married again… but i hope you all will understand… hehehe :p

and for my lovely wife… thank you for everything… YOU COMPLETE ME!

The day Yaddie got engaged!

December 28th, 2006 by yad

25th December 2006… a very special day for me, and the whole "Sadar Khan" clan hehehe… it’s the day I got engaged…

670447214l Now I have another 7 months to go before the "Big Day"… :)

Some say this 7 months period is the most challenging, as there will be lots of tests and obstacles… I just pray that everything will work out fine and smooth…

To all my friends, especially to Mr. A who was kind enough to carry my tepak sirih, thank you for your assistance, support, wishes and prayers…

The day Yaddie attended the Kursus Kahwin

December 17th, 2006 by yad

Finally I attended the compulsory "kursus kahwin". All these while I thought it was just another way for the Jabatan Agama to get additional revenue while making it tough for young couples to get married, just imagine RM80 per person and they were 176 participants just now… huhu instant money… but at the end of the day, I guess I was wrong…

Of course at first  I attended the course this weekend is bcoz i heard it’s gonna be a lot tougher and longer next year, and there’s a likelihood that you might have to stay overnight if you enrol next year…  so being the typical Malay and shallow hehehe, I thought I’ll just get it done and over with this weekend…

anyway, what have i gained for the last 2 days???

1) aqidah

2) how to manage stress & managing your health

3)  art of communication for hubby & wifey

4) managing resources

5) conflict management

6) "hubungan kelamin" - huhuhu - very interesting topic

7) marriage procedure, talak & fasakh, divorce procedure etc…

so, for those who have nothing better to do at weekends… perhaps you should enrol… and honestly, it’s good not only for those who are getting married but also for those who want to improve themselves… the syllabus is very relevant, and you can apply it not only when you’re married but also in any sort of relationship… for example, stress management, conflict management and communication… even married couples should attend it from time to time as a refresher course…

anyway, just to make it clear, i’m not being paid to promote this course hehehe…. but honestly, i’m really glad i attended it.

The world is divided into people who do things–and people who get the credit.

For those who think that most of the time you’ll be sufficiently and fairly rewarded for the hard work you put in, think again….

I just found out that a fellow colleague got the lowest appraisal point in his department, and in reality he is the most hardworking personnel in his department, and if i may add, the smartest, regardless the absence of a degree. He’ll be in the office even on weekends, not because he is trying to impress the boss, but because he knows the work has to be completed on time… and more often than not, he’ll be given more and more assignments to cover the other people in the department, while the rest of them go back on time and seldom make the effort to stay back and complete their work… I really pity him, but there’s nothing much i can do except to offer my sympathy… there are many "tai chi" masters in his department… in fact, 75% of the total workforce of the company are "tai chi" masters. hehehe

I guess so far i’m lucky coz the people in my department are very helpful, and we still believe in teamwork. Sometimes my department will be given tasks or assignments which are clearly irrelevant or not within our scope of work, nevertheless we do it because we feel committed to it and because we just can’t tolerate those bloody "tai chi" masters… but of course  once the task has been completed, everybody will be rushing to claim the credit…

Anyway, this posting is dedicated to my fellow colleague… may he be transfered to another department where his services and commitment will be appreciated and will be rewarded accordingly…

A new personal record

December 15th, 2006 by yad

I just got back from Alor Setar for some work related matters….

left KL on Wednesday around 11am, and I reached Alor Setar around 3.15pm… well, it’s definitely a new record for me… normally that’s the time I take to reach Penang… but I guess time really flies when you’re in a rush… I only realised that I’ve been speeding all way long when I reached the last toll plaza…

now i wonder how many speeding tickets i’ll be getting soon… that’s surely another new personal record for me hehehehe

Attempted suicide, a horny guy molesting the floor or what?

September 24th, 2006 by yad

Hoi_mau_mampus_ka Look at the picture and tell me what you see…. do you see someone trying to commit suicide, a horny guy trying to molest the floor/wall or something else?

when you’re done, rotate the pic 90% to the right, perhaps you’ll have a different perspective… the idea is that you can’t simply jump to conclusion… don’t just assume coz you may be wrong…

(thank you Mr.A for this pic…)

anyway, to all my Muslim friends…selamat berpuasa… and selamat menghayati bulan Ramadhan… (don’t be notty!)

Di manakah rambutku?

August 27th, 2006 by yad

27082006009mini It was supposed to be a simple haircut… nothing fancy… but instead of the normal trip to my regular barber, I went to this saloon in Alpha Angle… and this stupid hairstylist, perhaps she was having her pms… or maybe she’s only a trainee, or maybe she’s plain stupid, but she screwed things up despite given simple instruction to only trim my hair. And after the terrible haircut which costs me RM32, my gf brought me to her fav. saloon (somewhere in Melawati), but even the hairstylist could not repair the damage… And the end result?- well, I went to this barber in Bukit Antarabangsa and had my hair (or what’s left of it) shaved, well… that was the only logical way to remedy the damage…

Luckily, my parents are ok with my new look, and so far my gf seem to like it, hopefully the people at my workplace won’t be surprised when they see me tomorrow …

(now I look more like a bouncer than a legal officer) hehehe

supernatural experience @ the work place

August 21st, 2006 by yad

Believe it or not… I think I was sexually harassed by a ghost just now…

it was around 7pm, and I was in the toilet at my office… was planning to go back after Maghrib prayers… so I thought I’ll just take my wudhu first and carry on with my work… still had lotsa things to do… especially after 4 days of leave… anyway, as i was about to take my wudhu, i felt something slapped my butt… and then i realised that i was the only one left on the floor… of course I didn’t turn around, well… I may be big in size, but let’s not push my luck, ok? hehehe

so I quickly ran out of the toilet, went straight to my room, packed my things and left the office…

Well, for some people, it would be a nice experience to have yur butt slapped, but trust me, it will freak you out if you can’t tell who or what’s slapping you… hehehe

now I wonder if my HR Dept would entertain my "sexual harassment" complaint… ???  I still consider myself a "victim"… hehehe

Mama & Baba coming back… woohoo

August 16th, 2006 by yad

My parents have been away for the last 2 1/2 months… and they’ll be back in Malaysia tomorrow… gosh… time to push the panic button… I’ve got lots of things to do… the house is already like "tongkang pecah", eventhough there was no "party buih"… I’ll need to vacuum the house and mop the floors first thing tomorrow morning. Then I’ll need to clean up the aquarium, wash the cars and before I leave for the airport, gotta masak nasi (something I’ve not done for a long long time)…. hehehe and I’m gonna have a tough time explaining to my parents why I didn’t lose weight when they were gone… (hhmmm perhaps I can blame the food served at work)
